Using videos in your online consultations is a great way to explain key concepts, summarise the scope of your project, or share stories. To upload, manage and customize how these videos appear on your project page, use the Videos widget. You can also add more than one video widget in your consultation.

  • Video Files Supported - mp4, avi, mpeg, mov (Quicktime), flv

  • Embed links supported: Youtube, Vimeo & Wistia

Note : We do not support .avi file type temporarily.

Wistia videos are not supported in the Videos widget and the Videos option of the text editor. They can be directly embedded into the text editor using the "code view" option.

To get the embed code of the video,

  1. Just right-click on the Wistia video and select "Copy link and thumbnail". OR

  2. Select the 'fallback iFrame embed type' code.

Add the copied URL in the code view and hit 'Save'. If you have any issues with embedding the WISTIA video on your site, please get in touch with support via live chat or via support@engagementhq.com

To use the widget, you need to add it to your EngagementHQ project. The following steps describe how to add the widget:

Select the Projects link in the navigation bar of EngagementHQ and click on your specific project. You can use the Search box to locate the required project.

Click on the title of your project. In this case, the project in which the widget is to be added is “Sample project for EngagementHQ”. You can view the selected project’s page.

Click on the Add Widgets button to add the Videos widget to your project. A list of widgets is displayed on a draw from the right of the screen. Click on Videos.

Now, you can view the Videos page on your screen. In this page, you can upload new videos, embed videos and copy them from different projects.

In the Videos page, click on the Add Video button to add videos to your project’s Video widget. On clicking this button, you can see that there are two options available for adding videos. These are Add Video and Copy Existing Video.

Adding Video

When you click on Add Video, you can see the options to Upload Video or Embed Video. You can perform the following actions using these options:

Select the video to be uploaded and click on the Open button. The selected video is added to your project’s Video widget. The interface allows you to upload more than one video at a time. The video you just uploaded is visible in the Videos page of the widget. After the video is uploaded, as we scroll down, the field 'Legend' is the title of the video that appears directly under the video clip when seen on the front end. The 'Description' is what appears under the title. These two appear together. Whereas the 'Transcription', does not appear on the same page. This can be opened in a new tab, to check the transcript (if any) of the video.

Note:

1. In the back end, only uploaded videos allow the selection of a thumbnail image from a choice of 3 default images

2. An uploaded video can be downloaded if required. To download a video, go to the edit option of the video. Click the three dots to see the download option in the dropdown.

  • Embed Video - click on this option to embed a video in your project. The following Embed Video screen is displayed. Enter the video link in the Link to a video box. Enter a caption and description for the video in the Caption and Description boxes, respectively. The character limit for the caption field is 255 but there is none for the description field. After this, click on the Save & Close button.

Displaying Videos on the Front-end

Also, the page of the Videos widget contains a drop-down menu with the following two options: Show Top and Show Recent, as displayed below.

Show Top reorders the videos based on their date of creation. So the oldest one will appear first and the later ones next. Show recent will show the latest videos first. In the box next to the drop-down menu, enter the number of videos to be visible in the preview. A pushpin icon next to the videos indicates that these videos will be displayed in the preview of the Videos widget of the project.

For example, in the figure below, Show Top option is selected and the count entered is 2. The pushpin icons are for the top two videos. The preview image is provided below for a better understanding of how the Show Top option and count works.

Similarly, in the next image, Show Recent is selected and the count entered is 2.

After you have added the videos to your project, you can view the count in the project page.

You can preview the project by clicking on the Preview button located in the top end of your project page. Clicking on the button displays the participant’s view of all the tools and widgets in the project.

The preview is displayed in a new tab as indicated below. Click on the more.. option to `view all the links.

If you do not want the Videos widget to be displayed in the published project, select the Hide option for the widget in the project page.
