The custom widget allows you to create your own widget using the text editor or HTML. This allows you to customize your widget content if the widgets we provide don’t quite meet your requirements.
For example, you could use a custom widget to:
Embed a calendar of events
Embed content from other platforms, such as Eventbrite or Juxtapose
Provide extra content as a side panel
Embed social media feeds or posts, such as X timelines
Use Facebook Pixel to track users
In the example above, a custom widget was used to display a Juxtapose comparison of images.
Custom widgets are best used to embed or display snippets of content; if you need a complete page for custom code or content, we recommend using and linking a static page.
If you want to embed content such as PDF documents, photo galleries, videos, or profiles, remember to check out our built-in widgets, as they may have a more seamless presentation. Additionally, if your embed codes are not working as expected, please contact us for help with troubleshooting or whitelisting an external website.
To add a custom widget to your project:
On your project page, select Add Widgets and choose Custom from the Select Widgets menu.
Select the pen icon next to the widget title to edit it, or check Hide title if necessary.
Use the text editor to create your content, including images, videos, links, or tables.
If you need to add HTML, open the Code View using the < > button and paste the code snippet in the window.
Select < > again to close Code View and Save. You cannot Save while Code View is open.
You can also select Copy Existing, choose a project from the Select project dropdown menu, check the relevant widget, and select Add to Widget.
Widgets are automatically saved and published to your project and listed in the widgets section of your project page. You can also use the dropdown menu to Show or Hide it on your project, the bin icon to delete it, or select the title to edit it.
