You are required to create and display your Privacy Policy in conjunction with your legal team and organization. While Granicus maintains its own privacy policy, we cannot replace your legal team, and your organization will follow the privacy laws and regulations of your region.

As such, it is essential that your Privacy Policy is created and maintained specifically by and for your organization. You can use these guidelines to understand what a policy might typically include:

  • An introduction to what the policy covers

  • Current references to the regulatory body of your region

  • What personal data you collect, including:

    • User and profile information

    • How site visitors use the site, including content they create

    • Site usage, such as page visits and downloads

  • How you intend to use the collected personal information

  • A disclaimer of responsibility for linked external sites

  • The security of personal information

  • How site visitors can request access to or correct their information

  • A method for site visitors to contact your organization
