The Text Analysis tool allows you to Filter by demographics, allowing you to segment and analyze comments, posts, and text-based responses using the participants’ demographic information.

The demographics filters are based on the registration questions you ask participants in your Signup Form; you cannot use demographic filters if you don’t use registration. These filters can help you understand how a specific demographic feels about a particular topic in text responses, and you can use them to view, sort, and tag comments based on one or multiple demographic filters.

To filter by demographics:

  1. In Text Analysis, select the Filter by demographics icon in the top right corner to expand the Demographics Filter menu. Use the Filter by tags dropdown menu to narrow your list of text responses first, if necessary.

  2. Choose from the list of available Signup Form questions and select Add Filter. You can add more than one filter and each one is stated next to Demographics Filter.

  3. Select the X next to the filter or Remove Filter to remove the filter.

  4. When you’ve added each filter, select Apply Filter.

  5. After filtering, you can select Update Filter to add more or Reset Filter to remove all and start again.

The last feature of our Text Analysis tool is the Sentiment Analysis tool, which can help you gain deeper insights into free-text responses.
