Why can't I unzip my survey report?

Windows is unable to open a zipped survey report file.

If you are having trouble unzipping your downloaded survey reports it may be because the file name you have chosen for your survey activity is too long.

Sometimes we see surveys which have long titles cause issues on Windows computers trying to extract the survey data.

For instance, if you have created a survey with a long title such as;

Submission form for collection of community input for proposed changes to the Long Street Pier and Parkland Precinct.

The file which gets created will have a file name;

Submission_form_for_collection_of_community_input_for_proposed_changes_to_the_Long_Street_Pier_and_Parkland_Precinct.pdf or .excel

These long file types seem to cause issues with Windows unzip.

To overcome this issue, try renaming your survey with a shorter title and generate the report again. As an alternative, you could also double click and enter the zipped folder, copy the excel, paste it outside the zipped folder, and then open it.
