The Important Links widget links participants from your project page to other important internal and external web pages. You can use this widget for essential resources and information, such as:

  • Other key consultations

  • Rules, instructions, or FAQs for using your site

  • Your corporate website

  • Project updates or outcomes

  • Social media pages

Please check that all links are valid regularly. If an external URL changes or you change the Permalink of the page on your site, the link must be updated.

Add the Important Links Widget

Widgets are listed in the right-hand content area of your project page. To add Important Links:

  1. Select Add Widgets on your project page.

  2. Choose Important Links from the Select Widgets menu.

  3. By default, the widget is called Important Links; you can use the pen icon next to the title to edit it. If you don’t want a title, check the Hide title box.

  4. Select Add Link from the Add Link drop-down menu.

  5. Enter the link text in the Title field and the link’s URL in the URL field. The URL needs to be complete and should start with https. The Title field has a character limit of 254.

  6. Check the box to Open in new tab if you want the link to open in a separate browser tab.

  7. Save & Close your link and repeat steps 4-7 to add as many links as required.

  8. You can also select Copy Existing Link to use one from another project. Choose the project from the Select project drop-down menu, check each link you want to copy, and select Add to Widget.

  9. You can drag and drop your links to reorder them, use the pen icon to edit them, or the bin icon to delete them. The pin icon indicates that the link will display on the project page.

  10. You can also choose to Show Top (the order in the links list) or Show Recent (the most recently added links first) links and use the number field to decide how many appear on the project page. Any additional links are visible behind the More... link, which takes you to the standalone Important Links page.

  11. Preview your project to see how the widget looks.

Widgets are automatically saved and published to your project and listed in the widgets section of your project page. The Important Links widget will show how many links are in the widget. You can also use the drop-down menu to Show or Hide it on your project, the bin icon to delete it, or select the title to edit it.
