If you have access to our EngagementHQ Enterprise Edition, you will be able to create Hub landing pages to collect and organise your projects. These pages are perfect for organising projects by department, theme or any other categorisation of your choice.
Only a Site Administrator has the privilege to create a new hub and assign a Hub Administrator to manage the space. Given below is the step-by-step procedure to create a new hub.
In the side navigation bar, click on Site Management and select Hubpage Manager from the drop-down menu. The Hubpages page is displayed.
Note - You will only see this menu item if you have our EHQ Enterprise Edition. If you would like to make an inquiry about access please get in-touch with firstname.lastname@example.org.
In the Hubpages page, click the Create Hub button. The following Hub Create page is displayed.
The Hub Create page contains the following fields:
- Title - Enter a title for the hub in this field. Your hub title should reflect the theme for your hub.
- Description - Enter a description for the hub in this field. The description should describe what type of projects can be found or the purpose of the hub.
- Assign to Admin - Click on this field to view a drop-down list with all administrators’ names. Select the names of administrators whom you wish to assign the hub. Note - You can only assign a hub to a Hub Administrator, who has already been created. Learn how to Add a new Hub Administrator by reading this article.
- Hub Tags - It is good practice to provide relevant tags for your hub. These tags are useful to categorise your hubs based on topics and filter participants in your database. The tags are automatically applied to each new project which is created and assigned to the hub page. You can add multiple tags to a hub.
After entering the necessary information in the Hub Create page, click the Create button.
On clicking the Create button, the following hub landing page is displayed.
The hub landing page is used to collect, organise and promote various projects that are assigned to your Hub. To understand how to populate this template for your Hub homepage, see article Setup your Hub landing page.
You can change the settings of your new hub by clicking the Settings button.
The following Settings page is displayed.
In the Settings page, the information in Title, Assign to admins and Hub Tags fields populate automatically from the Hub Create page. You can edit this information, if required.
Click on Hub Image and browse your computer to select a Hub Image for your project. This should be a square image and will be used as the featured image on the Homepage of your site. Don't forget to add a description and caption for accessibility.
Click on Click to upload to add an image for your hub. Uploaded image must be in either .jpg or .png format. This image will display as the default image when you link to a hub via the homepage of your site. You should also include a caption and description for your image to ensure that it is accessible. Edit the permalink in the provided field, if required, and click the Save button. You can preview the hub by clicking on the Preview button.
Finally, select an appropriate Hub URL. Remember, your Hub Url will look something like this www.yoursite.com/yourhuburl. It's important to make your Hub URL easily identifiable so make sure you select and appropriate permalink.
The preview is displayed in a new tab.
NOTE: You can also preview the hub by navigating to Site Management > Hubpage Manager > Hubpages and clicking on the Preview button in the Actions column.
You have now successfully created a new hub. To view the newly created hub, in the side navigation bar, click on Site Management and select Hubpage Manager. The Hubpages page is displayed.
You can edit the hub by clicking on the hub name in the Title column or by clicking the edit button in the Actions column.
