Bondi is one of our most flexible themes allowing you to showcase multiple projects on your homepage. In this theme you can choose the number of projects displayed in each row and provide direct links to highlighted project widgets.

If you are wondering if Bondi is the right theme for you or not, then first read our article on Understanding Bondi. The article below, explains how to manage the Bondi theme already in use on your homepage.

All changes to your Bondi template can be done in the 'Homepage Editor', which you can access by clicking on Site > Theme in the top navigation bar of EHQ.

The Theme page is displayed to enable you to edit your homepage. Click on the Edit your Homepage circle as highlighted below.

Like all the themed templates, Bondi consists of different boxes which we refer to as cards or tiles. Click on any of the cards/tiles on the left side and the right hand panel to edit will appear.

Banner

This is the first card of your theme and it will be used to display the first image seen by visitors to your page. This card is a banner that stretches across the entire top of the screen. Since this banner is responsive, it will look good on all devices as the banner will automatically adjust to the screen it is displayed on.

Your options:

  • Show: You can hide or show any card using this slider.
  • Upload Image: Refer here for best image size.
  • Customise Alt Text: The alt text for your image is used for accessibility and search engine optimisation. You can leave this as it is, however, it is better to give a meaningful alt text. The text should describe in a few words what can be seen in your image, e.g. "company logo".

Make sure to hit save if you want your changes to be applied.

The Freestyle Card

Below the Banner card is the freestyle card. This card will feature an image on the left and text on the right as indicated on the card icon (see below).

You have different options here:

  • Show: Every card in this theme can be hidden. Move the slider to the left to hide this card from being displayed.
  • Title: Give your site a title. The title will be displayed in big letters below the banner.
  • Description: Change the description of your page. This space should be used to describe what your site is all about. This accepts basic HTML. Feel free to play around with it if you feel comfortable.
  • Upload Image: The image or logo will be displayed to the left of your description.
  • Alternative Text: The alt text for your image is used for accessibility and search engine optimisation. You can leave this as it is, however, it is better to give a meaningful alt text. The text should describe in a few words what can be seen in your image, e.g. "company logo".
  • Settings: You can toggle on or off your title and the logo.

Make sure to hit save if you want your changes to be applied.

Card List

This is a Bondi specific feature, which allows you to display your projects in a matrix structure. You can determine the number of rows and columns on this card list.
Tip:
Choose just 2 in a row to highlight projects by giving  them more space on the homepage. Choose 3 or 4 in a row to display the other projects also in progress.

There are 2 modes in which you can use a card list. One mode uses tags for auto selection of the cards to be displayed. To use this mode ensure that your project is tagged (Read article on project tags), so that it is automatically picked up when you provide the tag. The second mode allows manual selection of the cards to be displayed.

Below are the different options in this card:

  • Show: You can choose to hide or show any card using this slider.
  • Collection Title: Provide a suitable title for your card list.
  • Card Content: Here you choose the mode of operation to be either manual selection of each of the projects or autofill option by providing the project tags.

If Select Cards is 'Autofill using tags'  then the below options are seen, where you can provide the tags to select the projects that will be displayed.

In this mode, you can then choose if all projects, or only published or only archived projects are to be selected for display. Also, the order in which the cards are to be displayed can be selected, by default it will be ordered by the published date for the the project, you can change it to be alphabetically ordered as well.

If Select Cards is 'Manually select projects'  then the below options are seen, where you can choose each of the projects to be displayed.

Click the + sign to select and customise a project for display on the homepage. The card settings options are displayed.

You can select the type of card, if project card is chosen, modify the name, description, image and the Call To Action text. Once done, click Save. You have to repeat this process of adding a card for all the projects you would like to add to your homepage. Only within a manually created card list, you can drag and drop cards to re-order them as you require.

You will also see an option to delete a card you no longer wish to display, when you move the mouse over that card.

Additional options seen on the card list are :

  • Card Layout: Here you choose the number of rows and columns for your card list if autofill option was used or just the number of columns if the manual option was selected.
  • Settings: Click on settings to add CTA (call to action) details. This is to prompt the visitor to take an action on the site.

You will see additional options that lets you link to more content.

Make sure to hit save if you want your changes to be applied.

The Widget Cards

After the card lists are the widget cards. These appear at the bottom of the page and there are different widgets to choose from. To learn more about widgets itself read our help article on adding widgets to your project.
The widgets can be used to display content from any project page on your landing page. This can be done in an aggregated manner, or for a specific project.

Your options:

  • Select Project: The project from which you want to source the content. If you choose 'All Projects' EHQ takes the latest items from across all your projects (only works with some widgets).
  • Select Widget Type: Choose any of the widgets available, if Project is selected you will only see the widgets from that project, so choose 'All Projects', to view all the available widgets.
  • Customise Title: You can customise the title of your card.
  • Show Title: You can then opt to show the title or not.
  • Number of items: The number of lines (items) shown in the widget. The more you choose the longer the widget gets.
  • Select Layout: Choose between a variety of different layouts.

The different type of widgets will order content automatically by the following logic. This cannot be changed:

  • Key Dates: By date, oldest first. It will work with a rough 2 to 3 ratio. That means if you have 5 dates displayed, it will pick 2 dates that are in the past and 3 that are in the future. If you display 10 dates, it will pick 4 dates from the past and 6 from the future.
  • Related Projects: Picks the projects you have selected in the associated project and orders them by published date, oldest first.
  • Photos: Ordered by date when uploaded, newest first.
  • Videos: Ordered by date when uploaded, newest first.
  • Documents, Important links and FAQs: Ordered by date when created, newest first.

Make sure to hit save if you want your changes to be applied.
