After sending Newsletters, you can monitor some metrics such as how many emails were delivered and how many were opened. These metrics are tracked in our email delivery system and may take up to 24 hours to update.

You’ll be able to see key metrics for all past newsletters since we introduced this feature. To see them, go to Newsletters and, in the Sent tab, select More stats next to the relevant newsletter. The metrics are given in both numbers and percentages.

These are the available metrics:

  • Recipients: this number next to the person icon indicates how many users were on the recipient list. You can hover and click this number to view the list.

  • Sent: the number of users this was delivered too. This may differ from your Recipients due to unsubscribed or blocked users included in your mailing list.

  • Open Rate: the number of users who opened the email; this is only counted once per person, even if they open it multiple times.

  • Clicks: the number of users that click on a link in the newsletter. This is only counted once per person, even if the user opens multiple links or the same link multiple times. This may also include the Unsubscribe link in the newsletter footer.

  • Marked spam: the number of users who marked the newsletter as spam.

  • Bounce rate: the number of emails that bounced.

  • Unsubscribed: the number of users that unsubscribed directly from the newsletter. Please note: currently the Unsubscribed statistics are not updated.

The statistics of Recipients and Sent may differ due to emails not being delivered. There are several reasons for this:

  • Blocked or pending participants don’t receive newsletters, even if included in the mailing list.

  • The participant has previously unsubscribed to newsletters.

  • The participant’s inbox is full, or the email is invalid, resulting in email bouncing. This will also occur if a previous email has bounced.

  • Site and Hub Administrators don’t receive newsletters.
