If you have the Follow Project widget in place on your project, users can Subscribe to updates from that project. Subscribers are added to your mailing list for that project when you create and send a newsletter.

Please note that these are not automatic updates; subscribers will only receive an update if you include them in your recipients list when you send a newsletter.

To do this:

  1. Go to Newsletters in the main menu and select Create Newsletter.

  2. Use the text editor to draft your content and select Save & Preview. Select Send Test Email if necessary and, if you’re happy with the content, select Add Recipients.

  3. In the Select recipients screen, ensure that Include Project Followers is checked, and use the Select Projects drop-down menu to check the project housing your Follow Project widget.

  4. The List of recipients will populate with all users who participated in that project or who selected Subscribe to follow it. You can uncheck any recipients you don’t want to include.

  5. Select Add selected recipients and Send when you’re ready.

There is no option to only include project followers or separately obtain the list of subscribers; you can only Include Project Followers when selecting a specific project.

As such, the only way to send a newsletter to subscribers alone is to manually uncheck and remove participants from the List of recipients. As this is a time-consuming process, we recommend sending newsletters that will be relevant to the project participants as well.
