Using the govDelivery connector, you can sync your database of registered participants to your govDelivery account.
If you assign govDelivery topics to your projects, users can also subscribe to regular communication about specific topics they’re interested in.
With this connector, you can:
Sync your registered participants and project subscribers to govDelivery.
Provide an easy way to subscribe to project updates that interest the user.
Create and use email templates for different topics.
Send project updates across different channels, including email, socials, and SMS.
How it Works
We have updated the govDelivery connector to sync your registered participants to your govDelivery account. With the connector enabled, you must contact our support team so we can activate the participant sync. Once activated, participant email addresses will sync to your govDelivery account under an “EngagementHQ” topic once they have verified their EngagementHQ account. No other participant details are synced, and users can unsubscribe at any time from notifications that you send.
With the connector enabled, you can add topics to your projects, and when a user selects Subscribe on the Follow Project widget, the following will happen:
The user receives a welcome email from your govDelivery account as a new subscriber.
They are added to the subscriber list for that topic in govDelivery.
The user will receive an email confirming their subscription to the topic.
A registered and logged-in user only needs to select Subscribe on the widget to subscribe to the topic. Unregistered users must enter their email address into the widget’s text fields before selecting Subscribe.
Connect to govDelivery
Before you connect you will need the following information from your govDelivery account. If you are having trouble finding this information, please contact govDelivery support.
GovDelivery Account: Enter the Account Name for your govDelivery account. The account name is usually all capitals with no spaces.
GovDelivery Token: Enter the token for your govDelivery account.
To connect your govDelivery account with EngagementHQ:
Go to Marketplace from the main menu and select govDelivery by Granicus. This integration is available in the All or Email & SMS tabs.
Enable the connector and enter your govDelivery account name and token. Add “Basic” and a space before the start of your token.
Select Save. If we ask you to refresh your token, please repeat the step above to enter and save a new token.
With the connection in place, you must contact our support team via chat or by emailing support@engagementhq.com, so we can enable the participant sync for you.
Add govDelivery Topics to a Project
Go to the project you want to connect with and go to Settings > Advanced.
Enter the topic code into the GovDelivery Topic code field and Save. You'll find this code in the general information section of your topic in govDelivery.
If necessary, select Add Widgets > Follow Project to enable the widget for this project.
Once you Publish the project, users can subscribe and be added to the govDelivery topic subscriber list.
You can connect multiple projects to the same govDelivery topic, but only one topic per project.
