Different Types of Reports

There are many ways to compile a report, and they often depend on the story you want to tell. Data is versatile in that it never shows only one thing. Instead, you can use the reporting features of EngagementHQ to export reports, charts, and graphs and use them to tell the story you need to.

This does not mean that you can or should manipulate data to tell a specific story, but that you can instead compile different reports for different stakeholder groups.

For example, your community members may be more interested in hearing about how their contributions led to the decision to rebuild the community center, but your executive team needs to hear about contribution numbers and engagement rates. The same Detailed Project Report can help you pull statistics for both.

Here are some other ideas for reports you may want to compile:

  • A summary report for your community detailing some contribution statistics to show how you reached a decision, and a more detailed report for your organizational stakeholders.

  • Providing your community with a report for your consultation results, in addition to reporting on your engagement methodology, and communication campaigns

  • A high-level overview vs the specifics of consultation results. You may choose to use an executive summary to combine these into one report.

  • Create reports using specific filters for specific needs, such as deeper demographic reporting for organizational stakeholders. It can also be helpful to show your community which demographic groups have responded in a specific way.

  • Quick updates for your project description or Newsfeed to report on how many responses and key takeaways the consultation has received. Remember to include a link to a comprehensive report if the consultation is closed.

Regardless of what reports you create, remember to publish them on all necessary channels so that they reach the people they need to.
